Punxsutawney Phil, the world-famous groundhog, emerged from his burrow in western Pennsylvania this morning, saw his shadow and thus predicted another six weeks of winter.
While Phil has a well less than a coin toss rate of success with his weather forecast prognostications in years’ past, the National Weather Service suggests February will have colder than normal temperatures in the northern and northeastern United States, with abnormally warm weather in the West.
