Amazon announces short list for HQ2.
Making the first cut was the greater Boston area as the Commonwealth Massachusetts endorsed a variety of site options around the state.
Of further interest is how Amazon’s list included a few unexpected venues among what is otherwise a list of expected contenders for the playoffs.

In any event, various South Shore interests continue to hope against likely to be long odds that Weymouth’s Union Point proposal will be the winning bid.
Conversely, however, so far there has been no announcement by the Koch Maladministration about any possibility of the mostly in Quincy former Fore River Shipyard finding itself utilized as a satellite venue of a Massachusetts-based HQ2.
Amazon is expected to make a final decision later this year.
