Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Quincy endeavors to dig out only to then get “T-ed.”

Recovering from last week’s bombogensis blizzard appears to be continuing to lumber along.

At least one would like to hope so.

For example, just this week City Hall announced that it will be addressing clearing snow-clogged storm drains.

It remains to be seen, however, if this effort will prove sufficient as tomorrow’s well in advance heavy rainstorm rolls in to the area.

And as for other bombings, this week the MBTA closed its Wollaston Red Line Station on Monday for (at least, ed.) twenty months for reconstruction.

Fortunately for the T and especially for to be long suffering locals, the weather cooperated even if vehicular traffic over the Neponset Bridge during the morning commute appears to have worsened even further as strap hanger ridership appears to have taken a dip.

Bridge back-up?

Seriously, after an apparent shaky start with its planning efforts, the T appears to have pulled out all the stops after repeated as well as well-warranted criticism of its plans by locals.

Then again, as it is New England, one should give the weather ten minutes before handing any awards.

And on other also potentially bright notes, a new City Council has been sworn into office.

While the Quarry’s by far most frequently read stories involving a particular ward councilor who is no longer a council member and thus the Quarry is bracing for hits to its ad revenue, the Quarry already sees the potential for at least some further improvement as far as the Q is concerned.

For example, Ariel is thankfully no longer first in the chain of succession should anything untoward happened to the mayor.

Even so, however, the jury hasn’t even gone out to then endeavor to pass judgement on the new council.

Plus, the previous council made such a mess of things that perhaps that which makes the grass grow is already a fait accompli.

Regardless, count on Quincy Quarry to toss stones whenever such should become necessary and as only it has the stones to do.
