Missing Connecticut State Police Search Dog Found Safe.

Texas, a Connecticut State Police Bloodhound missing since Wednesday night, was found safe and sound at about 10:30  Friday morning.

Word about Texas brought together law enforcement, other first responders as well as animal lovers from across the region to assist in a wide search to help search for the missing search dog.

The dog disappeared in an area not far from the New York border.

Jeff Kehlenback, a special agent with the Department of Homeland Security, was the first to spot the missing Bloodhound.

Texas was in good shape, but hungry and thirsty, with a small cut on one paw.

“Texas will be checked out by a vet but he seems to be generally OK,” said Connecticut State Police spokeswoman Kelly Grant.
