Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Both Sides Win in an Election!

The past seven days have been pisser, at least they have been on the Quincy Quarry Political Affairs Desk in the wake of the arrest of yet another Beacon Hill grafter as well an arguably the first-time ever election outcome wherein both sides won.

Not only did arguably the most Massachusetts political scandal ever hit the fan care of the sure to unlucky 113 count federal criminal indictment of former State Senator Brian Joyce (Democrat, Milton), the Alabama special election to fill a vacant United States Senate seat finally ended as well as that many of both major political parties’ powers that be are surely pleased with the outcome.

While Quincy Quarry expects that the winning Democratic challenger in Alabama is overjoyed over his upset win, he is now facing a tough row to hoe as he new faces a regular election race to keep his Senate seat come 2020.

Conversely, Republicans will no longer have the albatross of his losing opponent hanging around the rest of their 2018 candidates’ necks as well as will continue to control the Senate for at least awhile longer.

Put another way, be careful what you wish for …

And on a related front, #metoo continues to slaughter deserving pigs in both the public and private sectors without any signs whatsoever of slowing up on its pace of taking out porkers.

So effectively, in fact, that it would appear that the first apparent underhanded as well as elaborate false allegations would appear to have been fabricated.

Fortunately, one suspects that the perp(s) behind this apparent scam will perhaps soon enough to be busted as well as deservedly so.

And finally, Quincy was hit by its first snowfall of the year and – amazingly – most of the city was decently plowed for a change, albeit not anywhere near as thoroughly plowed was City Hall in the wake of what was a perfectly timed modest weekend as well as overnight snowstorm.
