Senator Al Franken (Democrat, Minnesota) is ‘ashamed’ of Tweeden photo, but says he will not be resigning

“I am ashamed of that photo,”  Franken told Minnesota Public Radio.  “She didn’t have any ability to consent.  She had every right to feel violated by that photo.  I have apologized to her.  I was very grateful that she accepted my apology.”

Senator Franken, who said he has been a champion of women’s rights issues throughout his career in the Senate, also responded to the other allegations from several women that during photos with them during his political career he had allegedly slid his hand down to cup their backsides.

At the same time, Franken did not offer apologies to these other  women.

Franken also noted on Minnesota Public Radio that the allegations took him by surprise, and when asked if more women might come forward, Franken said he doesn’t know.

Regardless, count on Quincy Quarry to probably report further on any further breaking badly news for the handsy junior, if not also juvenile, senator from Minnesota.
