– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News.

Quincy managed to continue to function on Election Day!

As everyone knows, in patronage hire-laden municipalities Election Days are all but mandatory personal days taken off to hold campaign signs as directed.

Unless, that is, one is working the overtime gravy train working the election on the clock.

Even so, if not also amazingly so, regular municipal activities apparently managed to continue to function without any as yet known hitches.

This, in turn, baits various possibilities as to why not.

Kicked to the curb?
A Citizen Photojournalist photo

Starting with least likely, perhaps the Koch Maladministration is finally getting its act together after nearly a decade on the job.

Alternatively, it was a perfectly nice day, meteorologically speaking.

More likely, however, is that certain of the City of Quincy’s departmental personnel rolls may well be even more larded up with hack hires than even long-suffering and thus duly cynical locals can image.

Regardless, no matter how many city employees were tasked to carry the load of one heavily problematic candidate endorsed by Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch, they were unable to carry her onto victory.

That or clean up after her.
