Military Times Poll: What do service members really think about President Trump?

 

The latest Military Times poll shows more active-duty service members like Trump than dislike him, but divisions remain within the ranks as well as among the various branches of the service.

 

For example, while enlisted favorability numbers ran roughly ten percent higher than recent civilian polls, officers favorability numbers ran almost ten percent lower than civilian polling data.

Further problematic was that military favorability numbers of President Trump were less favorable than at least some military opinion polls of President Obama conducted during his time as Commander in Chief.

 

There was, however, one bright note.

 

Looking back to military polling data collected before last year’s Presidential election and reported by Quincy Quarry’s media comrades in arms at DuffleBlog.com, opinions among the military have arguably improved.

Specifically, when asked over a year ago who they would vote for during the 2016 campaign, 78% of service members picked “other.”

 

Additionally, those who picked “other” then overwhelming chose “military coup” from a list of options that also included Joe Biden, Ted Cruz, Jill Stein and “a massive earthquake that wipes out life in North America.”
