Hancock Street Misalignment Project still ongoing?

Is Quincy Center’s readily arguable equivalent of a local mini Big Dig still underway?

As was repeatedly expod by Quincy Quarry, not only did the Hancock Street Misalignment project run at least a year and half longer than its originally just a bit longer than a year and a half long construction schedule, finished work on the misalignment project has subsequently as well as often been torn up and then patched over.

For a somewhat recent example, the redone run of Granite Street was dug up somewhat recently so as to allow installation of underground utility lines that one can only logically assume should have been done before the road was repaved given merely but somewhat adequate project management.

Now, however, the instead cut and then patched over pavement was subsequently re-repaved as well as expensively re-restriped at taxpayers’ expense.

While Quincy Quarry has no idea if its fearless reporting was what gave rise to the re-repaving or if the re-repaving was strictly the result of yet another Q-up by City Hall.

As such it is anyone’s guess as to which absent more information such as new leaks out of City Hall.

Also re-restriped at taxpayers’ expense

Quincy Quarry also does not yet know exactly what sort of further as well as also likely to be expensive to taxpayers’ do-overs are all but assuredly likely to follow.

After all, such is only to be expected during the era of the often bumbling Koch Maladministration.

In the meanwhile, however, Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legions of loyal readers can count on the Quarry to monitor the Hancock Street between Dimmock and Temple Streets to see if City Hall opts to re-repave any of this run of often poorly sloped and thus also poorly draining pavement which in some places is also subsistence-sunken.

That and count on yet another hard-hitting Quincy Quarry exposé as things continue to be Q’ed up in the Q.
