Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Summer falls into fall.

The good news is that fall colors are expected to be glorious this year given considerable and timely rainfall earlier this year.

At the same time, the impending breaking badly bad news is heating up considerably even as the weather cools.

For but starters, winter will soon be following all too soon as well as that The Old Farmer’s Almanac winter forecast is calling for a hard winter for New England this coming winter.

While we can only hope that it will not be a Winter of 2015 redeaux this coming winter, who the Q knows as “it ain’t over till it’s over.”

In the meanwhile, the Labor Day holiday weekend is the traditional kick-off for political campaign trafficking.

This year’s elections, however, are only for city council and local school committee seats as the local mayoral term of office was grifted from a two year term to a four year term.

While one would thus expect that this would result in a lower profile campaign season this fall and even lower voter turnouts, such may not be the case.

Reasons include that more, if not many more, people are running for local political office this fall than in past recent local elections.

In turn, it would be safe to suggest that at least some candidates smell blood in the water.

That and how at least some locals are surely not pleased with the locally endemic poor roads, ever-worsening traffic congestion, ruinous rates of drug trafficking and especially skyrocketing property tax bills so as to fund profligate – if not also promiscuous – spending by the Koch Maladministration.

Fortunately, Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legions of loyal readers can count on the Quarry to continue to have the stones to speak truth about the local inept powers who are Q-ing up the Q.
