Houston left with a toxic mess after President Trump relaxes EPA regulations.
Explosions and fires at a Houston-area chemical plant triggered an evacuation Thursday in a region still in chaos from Hurricane Harvey — and generated new criticism of President Donald Trump’s efforts to repeal the industry’s safety rules.
Ironically, the chemical company hit by explosions and fires had criticized a now-delayed EPA regulation that would require more public disclosure of risks.
Also ponder the karmic implications of President Trump at least delaying pending Obama-era regulation as Texas, his largest electoral vote win in last November’s elections, slowly recovers from a hurricane-fueled rainfall of biblical proportions.
After all, the reason for delaying the pending regulations was to cut purported excessive regulations whereas Texas has long been notorious for lax regulatory oversight and enforcement.
