Trump holds a massive lead over possible 2020 opponents.

 

Even though President Trump is only seven months into his first year of his four term in office, talk of a possible Republican primary challenge has recently heated up.

 

Per a recent poll, however, such looks to be wishful thinking as if the primaries were held at this time, Trump would enter such a battle with a massive lead.

Moreover, a close and knowing read of this poll’s data would suggest that for all of negative sentiment about President Trump notwithstanding, he is not faring as badly in public opinion polling when facing hypothetical Democratic opponents in the 2020 general election as one might expect.

 

If there is any consolations to be had, the 2020 primaries are over two years away, the 2020 general election over three years away and essentially all of the 2016 presidential election polls save arguably one were wrong.
