Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap:  The Dog Days of Summer finally show some signs of life.

While summer continues to mostly be a siesta for hard news locally, there has been a recent modest uptick in other sorts of breaking badly local news.

For example, a Quincy Police cruiser SUV “t-boned” a car right in front of the Quincy Police Department headquarters.

While all four parties in the two damaged vehicles were hospitalized over non-life-threatening injuries, so far there has been no citation issued to the at least careless driver or at least some other sort of official sanction imposed.

That and so far also no official comment from Quincy Police Chief and surely coincidentally one of Quincy Mayor Koch’s brothers-in-law Paul “The Beav” Keenan or from any of the many city spokespersons as to any particulars about this traffic accident.

That and other reports indicate that a longtime City Hall coat holder was not only the only second known such person to be demoted by Koch Maladministration, this coatholder was also hit with a cut in her disposal shoe shopping income.

In turn, will Boston area women’s shoe retailers be the next retail sector to suffer store closings?

And as for more regional news, a regionally based furniture store continues to work the old adage that sex sells when it comes to marketing.

As best as can be reported by Quincy Quarry, the bluenoses at the MBTA have refused to run this venerable furniture retailer’s tongue-in-cheek ads.

And finally, on the national front, the denizens of Washington DC continue to inflame the nation.

At the time, in what has been a long and so far hot summer of public protests and worse, Washington DC denizens are increasingly showing themselves to not have as much impact on the day to day live of citizens other than clogging up the news with reports of DC’s outrages other than further heightening the national level of hypertension.
