Errant first pitch nails photographer below the belt at a Red Sox game.

Earlier this week, the game opening ceremonial first pitch by Massachusetts teenager, loyal Red Sox fan and competitive baseball player and cancer survivor get away from him and so ended up seeing international coverage.

The young man isn’t the first player to let the pressure of a Fenway Park debut take its toll, however, he is probably the first to bean a photographer’s junk with a wild pitch.

Needless to say, Quincy Quarry is no stranger to shots below the belt by those angry over their suffering well-deserved media exposes and thus was please to see the photographer tweet out that he was not injured.

At least not as would have appeared to have been the case.

And as for a happy ending after what was looking to be possible end of happy endings for the photographer, both the young man and the photographer returned to the playing field at Fenway to reprise a ceremonial first pitch, albeit this time the photographer was equipped with a mitt and serving in the role of the designated catcher.
