The Alt Left: violent leftists.

 

So called antifa (short for anti-fascist, ed.) activists say they’re battling burgeoning authoritarianism on the American right.

 

Are they fueling it instead?

In the wake of the recent violence at the University of Virginia, President Trump has taken considerable heat over calling for a pox on those violent on both political extremes.

 

While offering no comment nor making an endorsement of the President’s comments, Quincy Quarry is dedicated to honoring its commitment to endeavoring to provide thoughtful as well as balanced and fair coverage of events as they all too often unfortunately break badly into tragic news.

 

In this instance, the Quarry is reprising a solid critical review of the history of the antifa movement in the United States that was just published in the thought-provoking, historically progressive yet also usually moderate Atlantic Magazine as well as how the anitifa movement is thus an arguably incendiary bookend to also violent Alt Right extremists.

 

Simply put, opting for violence in response to violence only begats more violence.
