Boston Globe finally finds a buyer on the third try?
The Boston Globe’s sixteen-plus acre former headquarters on Morrissey Boulevard may finally have a buyer.
Boston Globe Media Partners is under contract to sell the parcel to the Nordblom Company, an eighty-five year real estate enterprise headquartered in Burlington Massachusetts and which has extensive holdings in New England as well as the Carolinas.
This is the third time that Boston Globe owner John Henry has endeavored to sell the sprawling property on Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester.
The Boston Globe operated at this venue for 59 years until its newsroom decamped for downtown earlier this summer following the move of essentially all of its press operations to Tauton.
Time will tell if the third is the charm to actually close on a sale and as the Globe continues to endeavor to establish ongoing economic viability.
