SUV on the roof

St. Louis homeowner returns home to find an SUV had crashed into the roof of his house.

“That’s not one you get every day,” said a fire department offical at the accident scene.

Authorities say the speeding SUV had hit an embankment and launched into the air, like something out of a Hollywood movie.

Even more bizarre, however, the home owner said the house has been in his family for over 40 years and that something similar happened in the 1980s or 1990s when his now late mother was living in the home.

The recently retired homeowner had only just paid off the mortgage; fortunately, he has homeowner’s insurance as well as surely hopes that the driver of the SUV has car insurance.

And as for the driver of the SUV, he was taken to a local hospital.  His condition was not known, but fire officials said he was in and out of consciousness after the crash.
