Airing it out …
An MBTA GIF still image

– News from elsewhere covered by Quincy Quarry News with commentary.

MBTA ads take on “Manspreading” and riding the rails while packing big backpacks.

In attempt to endeavor to see riding the T become (somewhat, ed.) less of an ordeal, the T is running a series of GIF videos dissing Manspreading and so calling for consideration of other passengers.

One brief GIF video shows a fat cat rolling around on a chair with a message reminding passengers to only take the space needed.

No argument, Manspreading is a long ongoing scourge on public transit around the world – so much so that it was officially added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2015

Even so, Quincy Quarry feels it only fair to note that male straphangers are not the only offenders.

To this end, while the T is to be commended for gently – however tacitly – chiding mothers for schlepping their progeny, it utterly fails to broach the also common problem of females packing along their shopping spoils or hauling around their toe-crushing two-wheeled roller suitcases.

After all, if women are not going to be encouraged to refrain from hauling around their packages around during congested commute times, why should males cease from making room for their packages?
