– News and commentary about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News.

Quincy Traffic, Parking, Alarm and Light Department can’t get itself upright.

As photographed by a roving Quincy Quarry News news team out looking for breaking badly bad news™ on the ever increasingly mean streets of the Q, yet another traffic light at a busy local intersection is as crooked as many suspect to be the case with the Koch Maladministration.

That and on top of the Quincy City Council recently lighting into the head of the City of Quincy’s year old as well as awkwardly named Quincy Traffic, Parking, Alarm and Light Department during a recent city budget hearing, Quincy Quarry has long been hectoring City Hall over traffic and pedestrian safety, out of service traffic lights, parking abusers and all manner of other valid public safety concerns.

Appointed as the head of TPAL last year in the spite of a rare display of pointed criticism by the City Council as well as so also given a big raise, the Director of Quincy Traffic, Parking, Alarm and Light Department – TPAL for short – had promised last year to hit the ground running, only to not exactly do so per the City Council’s scorecard.

Now, however, comes the most embarrassing matter of all: TPAL can’t get it upright.
