President Donald Trump’s Russian connection goes way back.

The surprising thing is that President Trump’s Russian connection primarily goes back to a then young Donald Trump seeking an appointment from then-President Ronald Reagan so that Trump could then seek to negotiate mutual nuclear disarmament with the Soviet Union.

The back story behind things is even more curious as President Trump’s late uncle Dr. John Trump was a pioneer in nuclear physics as well as a longtime professor at MIT and had explained to an even younger Donald the horrors of a nuclear war.

Granted, a then later roughly forty year year Trump was brash and then some in his assessment of his ability to negotiate nuclear disbarment with the Soviet original Evil Empire.

Even so, one has to give The Donald at least begrudging credit for his chutzpah to endeavor to save the world from a nuclear holocaust even if The New Yorker does not.
