– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News.

Quincy Center do-overs on the Hancock Street Misalignment Project continue as well as without any obvious end in sight.

Even by the running late as well as often both poorly in terms of quality yet also expensively in terms of cost standards for past Koch Maladministration initiatives, the Hancock Street Misalignment Street project is setting all manner of breaking badly bad news™ new records for problematic performance.

Even more dug up new pavement cover-ups

The latest problems to hit this project which is already running upwards of a year and half late on a project that was originally supposed only supposed to only around a year and a half include tearing up pavement newly redone last fall to do as yet unknown underground work.

One would think that any necessary underground work would be down before laying down the final topcoat of asphalt on a major reconstruction project for all manner of good as well as mostly obvious reasons, but things are done differently in the Q.

Will the third attempt finally prove to be the charm?

Way differently, as a matter of fact.

In addition to the digging up much of the new road surface along Granite Street next to the Stop and Shop office building, Quincy Quarry also recently happened upon construction workers tearing up a previously redone handicapped curb cut along Hancock Street opposite the outlet for the Quincy Center MBTA station outlet for vehicles and buses.

Perhaps this third attempt will prove the charm, however much such will also prove costly.

In any event, expect Quincy Quarry to continue to follow this expensive story about Q-ups and do-overs as well as exposé its findings when as well as as appropriate.
