– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News

Quincy jobbed by Snow Jobs in the wake of middling storm.

Winter Storm Stella turned out to be a bust for Quincy.

At the same time, while snowfall total was only half of the dire blizzard snowfall once forecast, Quincy taxpayers were still jobbed by shoddy Snow Jobs all over the Q.

Quincy Quarry Citizen Road Condition Journalists report generally poor plowing around the Q and especially a pain in the ‘Nek, as well as that many local streets were both often poorly plowed as well as subjected to low to no road salt diets.

Curb? What curb?

Many streets were said to be barely plowed wide enough to allow the normal number of lanes of traffic whereas plowing merely but close to curb-to-curb so as to safely facilitate street parking was reported as rarely seen.

Conversely, outbound commuters to places of work outside of the Q reporting that the streets in most other communities in better to much better shape than in Quincy during the Wednesday morning commute, even in those communities that received more to much more snow than Quincy.

A common plowing shortcoming reported the Q included not only less to much less than curb-to-curb plowing, but also snow piled up such fashion as to create ice walls along the sides of roads in what should be parking spaces, so walling off access to sidewalks and – most especially – blocking pedestrians at crosswalks.

Thoroughly plowed – as usual …

At the same time, however, the Quincy City Hall VIP parking lot was yet again found to be as thoroughly plowed as some senior city official are said to have been after hours within hours after Stella blew her way through the Q.

Intrepid but still frozen to verge of frostbite Quincy Quarry News personnel found similarly suspect plowing efforts inside of the Q as well as photographed same.

As such, the Quarry can thus only properly also accept its legions of loyal readers’ reports that other communities were in better to much better shape following this week’s over-hyped storm.

Hysterical at the Historical Society?

Further troubling, the sum of these shortcomings became particularly problematic given rainfall onto the snow as the storm wound down then froze hard overnight as well as has stayed frozen given cold days and frigid nights in the first forty-eight hours after the storm moved on and so out of the Q.

Further troubling still, with the forecast expected to perhaps become only slightly less cold in the next few days, one can only expect that the many miles of frozen hard snow piles along local streets to stay frozen hard for days yet to come.

Getting plowed?

And even further troubling yet, weather forecasters are uncertain if this week’s expected snowfall will only be but a minor dusting or perhaps as much as a several inch or more plowable event.

If the later is the case, at least Quincy snow removal workers know a thing or two about getting plowed.
