Less snow now expected to hit the Q?

As savvy locals know, when a storm’s impact is seen as lessening the closer to its arrival, the even less is the likely to be the final impact of that storm.

As the forecast predictions for Winter Storm Stella’s impact on the South Shore have not quite been a big bust as were the polls leading up to last November’s Presidential election, officials are still urging residents to be careful.

Specifically, the National Weather Service said Tuesday morning that Quincy, Milton and Braintree could see between eight and twelve inches of snow from Winter Storm Stella.

At the same time, most of the South Shore is now likely to get between six and eight inches, with Marshfield and points south expected to suffer but a mere four to six and 6 inches of snow.

In turn, these new snowfall forecasts represent roughly one step drops in the amounts of snow expected in the South Shore from previous expectation.
