– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News

Quincy City Hall Snow Response SWAT Team in place.

At the break of dawn this morning, intrepid Quincy Quarry News personnel found the City of Quincy Department of Public Works rolling out its City Hall snow removal operations response team to City Hall.

While the team rolled in before the storm hit, a good case could be made that the team was a day late.

Then again, perhaps it was decided to not further panic locals yesterday with an early deployment and so ruin what was a sunny but crisp day yesterday.

Regardless, expect Quincy Quarry to be relentless in its efforts to cover Winter Storm Stella as it blows through the Q.

At this point, the good news is that Stella’s storm path has wobbled westerly, so moving the rain/snow line similarly.

This shift in the storm’s path will thus likely reduce local snowfall totals to within the eight to twelve inch range or perhaps even a bit less from previously feared even greater snowfall totals.

The bad news, however, is that rain and sheet is now expected locally as the storm winds down later today.

If this transpires, such could give rise to the hard freezing of so moisture laden snow overnight, most especially where snow is either poorly plowed or not plowed at all where it should have been cleared.

In any as well as all events, expect Quincy Quarry to cover the news of the Q as only the Quarry has the stones to do.
