Parade organizer Tim Duross: Let them march!

Saint Patrick’s Day Parade organizers’ do an about face and let OutVets participate in the parade.

While the grousing continues, members of the Allied War Veterans Council veterans organization that runs the parade say their second as well as unanimous vote to allow the gay vets to march in parade stands.

Unclear at this time, however, is if the Boston broadsheet’s outing of a number of those previously voted against letting OutVets participate as either not veterans or living in Southie had any role in those voting against OutVets in the original vote had any impact on their not participating in the second vote.

Also unclear at this time is why Veterans for Peace continue to not be allowed to participate in the parade as everyone knows that even atheists are not exactly atheists when serving in foxholes

Regardless, expect Quincy Quarry to continue to follow this ongoing controversy as well as further report on it as might be appropriate.
