Quincy State of the City Address by Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch missing in action?

Per both the applicable city charter section as well as local custom, the Mayor of Quincy is obligated to present a formal presentation of his – or perhaps eventually someday her – views about the City of Quincy in January during non-mayoral election years.

This year, however, one would not know that such a presentation is to be made this year if one looks to the City of Quincy website even if tonight at 7 PM is when it is said to be scheduled.

Even per the Koch Maladministration’s well-known penchants for secrecy and other sorts of obscurification, this absence of any official mention sets a new low, however hard that might be for anyone outside of the Quincy Quarry newsroom to imagine.

At least not until roughly concurrent with Quincy Quincy Quarry’s roughly concurrent publication of the latest hard-hitting exposé into the soft underbelly of the Koch Maladministration was a quick Tweet posted.

Previously, however, nowhere was the so-called State of the City speech noted on the homepage of the City of Quincy’s website, on its online calendar, on the Mayor’s official homepage or even the City’s Twitter feed.

Apparently, either City Hall’s official social media twits cannot tweet or City Hall cannot find a couple of junior high school females to run its social media.

Even per the Koch Maladministration’s well-known penchant for secrecy, various other sorts of obscurification, and all manner of incompetence,  this absence of any mention sets a new low, however hard that might be for anyone outside of the Quincy Quarry newsroom to imagine.

At most, all that Quincy Quarry found during its initial research for this story was a Tweet posted about the impending modest snowstorm.

Twitter, tweet, twit – whatever

Then again, City Hall is not known for nothing if not for its snow jobs and thus this Tweet makes perfect ironic sense in advance of tonight’s expected verbal snow job.

Regardless, Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legions of loyal readers can count on the Quarry’s intrepid dog sled news team to brave the storm so that the Quarry can then can report on the expected snow job of a speech, if not also a wicked boring snore of a speech.
