What is interesting about local races, however, is that with Secretary Clinton succumbing on a battlefield of mostly red across an election map of the United States, so too have the dreams of a number of Quincy politicians also hit the fan.

Specifically, it has been long as well as widely reported that United States House of Representative Stephen Lynch was expecting to be named to a senior post in a (second, ed.) Clinton Administration. 

In turn, this would give rise to a local domino effect meets Conga Line of aspirants seeking to score higher political offices.

For example, the most likely as well as widely anticipated pre-Clinton defeat scenario was that the Norfolk County Sheriff was planning on a well-greased slipping into a Lynch promotion vacated Eighth Massachusetts Congressional District seat via a relatively quick and easy special election.

In turn, a Quincy City Council member with a well-stuffed campaign fund war chest was said to be ready to seek the post of Norfolk County Sheriff in a subsequent special election and so on and so on as well as ad nauseam.

Now, however, all manner of dreams for bigger offices are going to have to wait for at least a year, if not two to three years or even longer.

Unless, that is, at least not so long as any number of at least possibly pending grand jury indictments remained sealed.
