Quincy Center Adams Green finally beginning to take shape?

Is City of Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s long pending grandiose dream of spending upwards of a total of thirty million dollars to create a roughly but acre and a half green space in front of Quincy’s two city halls finally making a small step forward after years of his touting this particular pipe dream of his from among many so as to attempt to make Quincy Center Great Again?

After all, as one can see from exclusive Quincy Quarry photography, plantings have been made in the long-pending Adams Green green space.

While the many needed millions more needed to actually complete the over the top plans for the Adams Green have yet to be secured, the temporary plans will surely provide an improved outdoor space to be enjoyed by Quincy Square’s current flock of outdoor recreational pharmacologists and homeless sunbathers.

Key aspects of the current temporary plan is to both temporarily sod most of the long pending green space while at the same time also sodding local taxpayers yet again for several decades yet to come on this latest installment payment on yet another expensive as well as all but assuredly to run over budget boondoggle by the Koch Maladministration

This temporary landscaping plan is also at least the third temporary landscaping of the open space in front of new City Hall in the wake of the construction work undertaken to remodel old City Hall and which ending up costing of just short of twice what this long delayed as well as very much less than impressive remodeling project was promised to cost taxpayers.

Steps taken so far include spending likely never to be willingly disclosed as well as considerable sums of taxpayers’ money to replace engraved memorial bricks bought by locals in years past to provide a brick entrance way in front of new City Hall during a previous attempt to make Quincy Square great again a couple of decades ago.

So what if the city saved the original bricks as well as that all of those bricks which Quincy Quarry has seen are in perfectly good and thus readily reusable condition.

This inexplicable duplicate spending notwithstanding, so far, Mayor Koch’s spokesmodel Pinocchio Walkbacker is on record as saying that “… the project hasn’t gone over budget as of yet.”

At the same time, with work on the project nowhere near completed there is ample reason to assume that project will likely run over budget at some point in additional to its having already run late.

That and only the Koch Maladministration might perhaps know what it originally planned to spend on this latest of its many expensive boondoggles.

Regardless, at least the Koch Administration has managed to keep its long ongoing record of never finishing any of its major initiatives on time and/or on budget.

That and the how ever growing legions of loyal Quincy Quarry readers can expect the Quarry to continue to exposé the Koch Administration’s inability to do anything right, when promised and/or on budget.
