Howard Johnson’s returns to Quincy!

Decades after closing up its last restaurant location in Quincy, Howard Johnson’s returns to the Q with a motel franchise at the completely rebuilt site of the now former Presidents Inn.

While the room rates will be higher than was the case at this site of a former local bargain rate place for assignations as well as that check-in time now begins at 3 pm, so precluding the possibility of booking a nooner, surely this clean, new and value-priced motel option will still quickly prove to be a favorite for those looking for a decent place to stay in the Q or to park their relatives during the holidays.

At the same time, it would appear that Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch has not staged a photo op over Howard Johnson’s return to the Quincy, its birthplace some ninety-one years ago.

Also curious, the local taxpayers subsidized Discover Quincy tourism commission operated under the auspices of the local chamber of commerce has also yet to promote the return of HoJo’s to the Q.

Apparently, there must be some concerns about the reputation of the former no-tell motel at this site possibly lingering.
