Adele will not be performing at the Quincy Center MBTA station.

As if anyone needed confirmation of P. T. Barnum’s fervent belief that “there is a sucker born every minute,” the Metro Boston area and especially Quincy lite up like a Fourth of July night sky care of a Facebook post announcing that international singing sensation Adele would be appearing at a free concert tonight at the Quincy Center MBTA Station.

Ridiculous notion notwithstanding, at last report 345 people noted on the bogus Facebook page that they would be attending the performance.

Apparently the real reason for this spoof, however, would appear to be bring attention to the fact that the MBTA parking garage at Quincy Center has been condemned. 

This garage was thus shuttered over three years ago and so left commuters without a place to park on their way to then suffer riding the Red Line.

Even worse, there is as of yet not even a vague projection as to when a replacement garage might actually be built, much less one perhaps within possibly what future decade. 

At best, the Koch Maladministration is touting a plan to build a roughly one thousand foot long run of 8 to 12 level structures over the Quincy Center MBTA station. 

Not mentioned, however, is where the couple to several hundred million that would be needed to see this latest grandiose plan to (perhaps, ed.) make Quincy great again actually happen is to be actually sourced.

Further, adjacent Presidents Hill residents are already digging in for a long siege to lay waste to this grandiose pipe dream. 

Given that the residents hold the high ground, one can only assume that this latest grandiose will prove to be yet another fatal tactic miscalculation by the Koch Maladministration Misplanning team.

And in a related aside, Quincy Quarry’s switchboard lite up as well as its email inbox was overrun with inquiries as to its possible role in this goof of a spoof.

Flattery notwithstanding, Quarry categorically denies any involvement, much less having merely but advance knowledge of this goof of a spoof.

Quincy Quarry does, however, admire the gag even if Adele’s legal team is likely to rip this spoof’s perpetrator(s) to shreds.

The Quarry further has its own suspicions as to who sprung this goof. 

While having no reason, much less confirmed knowledge, it cannot help but at least suspect that Mayor Koch’s social media promoter for the so-called New Quincy Center as perhaps responsible. 

After all, any publicity is good publicity, especially when trying to move the discussion away from recent bad publicity that hit City Hall and which is also sure to only further metastasize.

Plus, this hired hand has long been talking up restaurants that have not necessarily yet opened up in Quincy Center as well as variously greased  content into various local media promoting Quincy as the next new hip community within the Metro Boston area.

As such, after first categorically setting aside the ridiculous notion of Quincy as hip as well as suspending all manner of other disbelief, the hired hand can thus only reasonably be considered as a possible suspect. 

Key reasons include that Facebook is so 2007 as well as so too also is even further behind the times Quincy, not to mention that the truly hip social media these days for the truly hip include Snapchat, Livejournal and perhaps still even at least one Twitter site.

As such, is it thus further obvious that the roster of the likely suspects behind this spoof should be include suspect locals as well as the usual ones.
