Quincy Weekly Fish Wrap: Hermine is a drip and City Workers cram BEFORE the start of school

The days leading up to Labor Day and the official end of summer were far from their usual summer stupor, although there was plenty of other sorts of stupor going around in the Q.

Unfortunately, wicked plenty.

For starters, the other area media made much of Tropical Storm Hermine as a possible break in this now past meteorically summer record setting drought, only to see her turn out to barely wet local pavement and but rustle tree leaves.

And on a darker note, the long ongoing rash of serial tree killings has added seniors to the victims list.

At  least a part of the problem would appear to be apparent slacking by water workers in the City of Quincy’s Parks and Forestry Department and which was duly documented by Quincy Quarry.

On a positive note, however, at least there are not any (obvious, ed.) signs of any double – much less triple – dipping. 

The biggest Q-up, however, was the last minute cramming BEFORE the start of school by the Parks and Forestry Department to clean up the landscaping at local public schools.

As per the usual with most any City of Quincy project, not only was the work was not completed before the start of school, the end product often left nothing to be desired as city workers ripped up all of the plants in a number of now formerly landscaped areas.

In short, as well as usual, things keep breaking badly in the Q for no good reasons.
