– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News

Quincy Center construction yet again underway without any apparent police detail coverage.

In what can only be assumed to be some sort of a confluence of the long ongoing frantic effort to complete the running almost one year late Hancock Street Misalignment project – which was originally supposed to be completed in but two construction seasons – and local police officers checking the weather forecast this week, considerable construction work this morning along the 1400 block of Hancock Street in Quincy Center was without obvious benefit of safety coverage by a police detail.

Even worse, this latest apparent absence of a police detail was at the start of the Friday morning commute.

Granted, Friday commutes are generally less burdened with trafficking than those during the rest of the work week – especially on Fridays during summer vacation months, but protecting public safety should never be slighted.

A mistake was made and thus accidents regularly happen

Additionally, given this week’s near tragic accident this week at the Wollaston Theater demolition site, one can only assume OSHA is making notes about all manner of things going on as well as especially those not going on as they should in the Q.

As such, continue to expect Quincy Quarry to continue to note Q-ups in the Q, if not also drop a few dimes along the way.

After all, exposing wrongdoings is at the heart of the Journalist’s Code.
