Quincy addresses another pedestrian safety concern in Quincy Center?
In another entirely unexpected move, apparently the City of Quincy has again addressed a perceived pedestrian safety concern in Quincy Center.
As such, given Quincy Quarry’s long standing policy of providing balanced and fair coverage, it thus must again begrudgingly give city officials some credit for actually seeing something done for a change.
The action: putting new pedestrian crosswalk traffic signals for a short run of sidewalk along Hancock Street in Quincy Center at the entrance way to a private parking lot.
Even though there are inexplicably new crosswalk lights for this short run of but sidewalk, there is conversely inexplicable no crosswalk painted on the sidewalk between these expensive pedestrian crosswalk signals.
Then again, during the time that Quincy Quarry news personnel monitored this inexplicably now pedestrian crosswalk lighted sidewalk, no one abided by these surely costly new crosswalk traffic lights where there is no crosswalk.

DPW Commissar Dan “Spanky” Raymondi
A City of Quincy photo

Quincy Quarry considered – for a change – reaching out to City of Quincy Department of Public Works Commissar Dan “Spanky” Raymondi for comment about this curious matter.
However, it was decided  there was no point subjecting anyone on the Quarry staff to suffer Spanky deflecting warranted questioning on this matter by his instead going on and on and on and on even more about the hardworking men and (some, ed.) women at the DPW when both the Quincy Quarry as well as ever increasingly more Quincy residents know better.
