Quincy Snow Jobs 2016: City Hall VIP Parking yet again comes first on the first full day of spring.
Part Four in a likely to continue ongoing series.
While Quincy Quarry called it correctly that today’s modest snow event would not be much of an event, the rest of its Greater Boston area media brethren were massively overworking today’s very modest snow event given a slow news week.
Additionally, the City of Quincy yet again continued to do as it all but invariably does whenever even but modest snow happens: declare a snow emergency with an all but sole focus on parking.
News of the snow emergency was also sent out via the City’s rarely used Twitter feed.

Nowhere, however, did the City of Quincy’s official website appear to note whether – or not – a school snow day was also to be imposed upon the mental health of already long-suffering local parents.

Fortunately, Quincy Quarry provided its growing legions of loyal readers with a way to find this vital parental mental health information.
That and the Quincy Public Schools system operates robust outbound phone messaging and social media communication efforts.
As for City Hall itself, however, its standard as well as self-serving protocols were yet again implemented.
For example, while entrance ways to City Hall and city-owned walkways leading to the Quincy Center MBTA station were not cleared by first light this morning, the City Hall VIP parking lot was yet again found clear down to the pavement.

On the other hand, at least local streets appear to have been adequately enough cleared even if they appear to have been – at best – but lightly salted.
At the same time, however, long suffering early morning MBTA commuters were yet again left to slip and slide their ways to their trains this morning along a major City of Quincy sidewalk that leads to the Quincy Center MBTA station.
Then again, as previous few – if any – City Hall civil servants deign to schlep to work on the T, why bother making things easy on local straphangers?
