Quincy Boy Scouts raise big bucks Punkin Chunkin at Pageant Field on a crisp fall Sunday afternoon.
Local Boy Scout Troop 6 had hundreds lined up to pay $3 to launch their used Halloween jack-o-lanterns into the air and then watch them go splat.
Locals residents were also able to enjoy a little fresh air as well as cathartically kick off the start of the end of the year holiday season for far less money than going to the mall to get a head start on holiday gift shopping.
And for those who missed the flying mayhem,  a team of Quincy Quarry videographers risked a pumpkin pie in the face to produce the following flying pumpkin music video.

While the Troop 6’s chunkin machine was not as big a piece of pumpkin artillery as can be seen as the upcoming Punkin Chunkin World Championships, a good time was still clearly had by all.
Plus, as the Patriots played on Thursday night this week, there was little to stop candy sugared up kids from hectoring their folks to schlep them to Pageant Field and have the scouts launch the family pumpkin.
