Baker throws Koch a lifeline?
In a still breaking news development, rumor has it that Governor Charlie Baker has endorsed duly embattled incumbent Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch for reelection.
This, in turn, presents several problems for Charlie.
For one thing, governors rarely offer endorsements in ostensibly non-partisan races.

Then again, Koch is ostensibly a Democrat.
And for another problem, Baker endorsing embattled incumbent Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch would lower Quincy Quarry’s so far generally positive views about Charlie both in general and as regards his intelligence in particular.
Granted, Koch did endorse Baker for Governor last year; however, Quincy Quarry’s in-house as well as world class polling expertise is of the view that Koch’s endorsement changed more then potential local votes for Baker into actual votes for his unsuccessful opponent, former Massachusetts Attorney General Marcia Chokely, than it otherwise encouraged locals to vote for Charlie.
