Boston 2024 bid cancelled by US Olympic Committee.
As long expected as well as oft-predicted by Quincy Quarry, Boston’s bid for the 2024 Olympic Games was voided today.

Although long ongoing problems ranging from unfavorable straw polling data among locals and Governor Baker’s adamant refusal to be forced taking a position on the bid until his review team finished up their review were cited as among the fatal concerns of the USOC, a new negative development transpired at the last minute.

This unexpected development: longtime Olympics cheerleader Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is said to have today told the USOC that he would not sign on the dotted line to guarantee that the City of Boston would cover any cost overruns.
So much apparently for promises of Boston 2024 officials that its insurance coverage would cover any shortfalls.
So much also for a fast talking New Yorker’s claims during last week’s televised Boston 2024 debate the USOC was not considering pulling the plug on Boston’s bid.
Conversely, Quincy Quarry’s hard-hitting call that the Koch curse would curse Boston 2024’s bid for the 2024 Olympic games proved itself to be spot on.
How soon other media uncover and then also report on the Koch curse’s devastating impact on Boston 2024’s Olympic dreams remains to be seen.
