Boston 2024 debate broadcast entertaining respite from summer reruns

Fox 25’s broadcasting of the Boston 2024/No Boston 2024 TV debate made for an amusing respite from summer reruns.
While Quincy Quarry did not secure press passes to attend the debate at Fox’s Dedham studio, it does find favor with many of the comments of debate co-host Boston Globe’s sportswriter Dan Shaughnessy.

Even so, the Quarry did find some shortcomings in the comments by the Boston broadsheet’s sports blowhard.
Specifically, Shaughnessy failed to note that the fast talking as well as oh so annoying New Yorker pro Boston 2024 backing up the Boston 2024 Partnership’s  Chair was a principal player on New York City’s FAILED bid for the 2012 Olympics.

Additionally, Shaughnessy failed to note in his post game wrap that Boston 2024’s apparent debate game plan was to control the time of possession, if not also play a four corner offense, as the debate facilitators were clearly not enforcing a comments time limit.
Per Quincy Quarry’s unofficial game clock, the pro Boston 2024 debate team’s bloviating claims of hyperbole took up roughly three quarters of the total debate showtime.

Further, for all of Shaunghnessy’s traditional focus on stats over the years as well as his specific comments in this particular commentary about ill-advised athletic contract signings and then dubious player utilization decisions made by local major league teams’ management, Shaughnessy utterly missed the tag on noting a few fundamental, if not also simple as well as potentially fatal stats facing Boston 2024.
One is that the Boston 2024 is not only not budgeting a dime for the considerable needed MBTA improvements necessary to host the 2024 Olympics if Boston wins the bid.
And another is that Boston 2024 is currently hoping that the feds kick in – BIG TIME – on the estimated upwards of a billion dollars needed for security expenses if the games actually do come to hub as Boston 2024 has not budgeted anywhere near what is going to be needed.

Granted, while slipping the bill to the feds lessens the pain imposed upon local taxpayers, not only to do locals still have to pay federal income taxes, the rest of federal income taxpayers are looking to have little say on the feds perhaps slipping the banana to them to help pay for what even most mooks on the streets of Massachusetts knows is ultimately a real estate development grift.
Other post debate commentary on Boston 2024 debate was also not exactly favorable.
For example, one of the Boston broadsheet’s columnists for Governor Charlie Baker to either step in support of bringing the Olympics to Massachusetts or put two in the hat of the proposal.
Expect more breaking news as it continues to break badly for duly embattled Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s Olympics dreams.
