– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News.

Quincy’s Falafel King lives – at least for at least another year in Quincy Center – as its fun-loving landlord, Allston-based LBC Boston & Partners Properties, has decided to extend Falafel King’s lease rather than force it to vacate its long Quincy Center location sometime this summer and which was previously as well as exclusively reported by Quincy Quarry.

Its regulars are sure to be rejoicing over the news as Falafel King’s Quincy Center staff has long cheerfully provided healthy quick Middle Eastern food and as do it even more numerous regulars who dine at its several as well as very busy locations in Downtown Boston.

On the downside, this development has to be disheartening to embattled incumbent Quincy Mayor and Pretender King Thomas P. Koch as the lease extension confirms rumors that the landlord, Allston-based LBC Boston & Partners Properties is at least slow-walking its much ballyhooed plans by the Koch Maladministration to be building a hotel in Quincy Center.

How great will be the impact of this latest delay in the long as well as often delayed plans to  redevelop Quincy Center remains to be seen.

As locals will recall, the previous and now former Quincy Center redeveloper Street-Works first announced a year’s delay in its plans to redevelop Quincy Center in 2012 and later embattled Mayor Thomas P. Koch claimed  in 2013 that he was confident the $1.6 billion downtown redevelopment project will move forward but perhaps some loosening of the terms of its agreement with the City of Quincy might be in order, only to subsequently be labeled as in default by an arguably jilted Mayor Koch in 2014.

In short, one can only reasonably assume that the embattled Koch Maladministration’s ever-shrinking grandiose plans for Quincy Center are now also embattled, if not also perhaps further unraveling as well as yet again.

Expect Quincy Quarry to continue to follow this latest breaking badly yet again for the Q story.
