– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News.
Quincy High’s long suspected parcourse is still not up to par.
While a tombstone for the dearly departed and former detention venue that was once was old Quincy High School is finally in place, the old school site continues to not be able to rest in peace, much less is anywhere near ready for its planned reuse as an outdoor recreational space.

At this point, construction of the long suspected parcourse park and also suspected memorial parking lot in front of new Quincy High School is currently at least 5 months behind schedule.
As previously reported in the South Shore broadsheet as well as reprised by Quincy Quarry, City of Quincy Director of Parks & Forestry Executive Director Chris Cassani stated that “. . . the project – to include a new stone wall, benches and parking spaces – should be mostly finished and open to the public in November.”
In fairness to Mr. Cassani, he did not note in November of what year.

On the bright side of this otherwise dark as well as long delayed project, at the least the long thought to be dead brown sod laid at this construction site last fall appears to have revived itself.
At the same time, however, Quincy Quarry must note that has not been able to monitor this variously troubled construction site 24/7 and thus cannot vouch for certain that new sod has not been brought in recently to replace the formerly brown sod that had long blighted the site.

Regardless, it would still appear that a sod miracle of one sort or another has occurred in the Q.
Quincy Quarry was about to perhaps consider reaching out to ask city officials so as to find out what gave rise to this apparent turf miracle so that it could then share the tip with its loyal crabgrass-suffering readers, only to then fortuitously while at the same time inadvertently discern the likely secret ingredient.

Actually, to be more accurate, stepped in it.
The secret ingredient: “Goose Grease” – and as captured by exclusive Quincy Quarry photography.
