– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News.
Quincy public safety traffic signage snafus continue to be rampant following a winter fraught with all manner of snafus inflicted upon both locals and visitors to the Q by the City of Quincy.
Following hard-hitting coverage by Quincy Quarry in what has long been a target-rich environment, city officials and workers would finally appear to have at least attempted to make up for their all too many past snafus.
Unfortunately, as well as all too typically, both overkill as well as even more snafus committed by city employees would appear to also continue to be all too frequent.
In an apparent overreaction to the City of Quincy’s innumerable past Q-ups and perhaps also frequent well-deserved criticism by Quincy Quarry, signage clutter is now frequent around the Q, ranging from excessive to outright confusing to arguably often wasteful of resources as well as often all three at the same time.
Additionally, as documented by Quincy Quarry photographic personnel, the waste is perhaps best exampled by the City’s addition of signage facing the wrong way on an apparently one way as well as very quiet residential side street except for briefly around the start and end of classes at Quincy High School.
That and improperly putting up a stop sign on a utility pole – and a crooked one at that.
Quincy Quarry considered reaching out to Department of Public Works Commissar Dan “Spanky” Raymondi for comment on these apparent latest Q-up’s on his watch.
After all, not only is Spanky currently the Commissar of the DPW, he is renowned for once taking up considerable time commenting – was well as often well into the night – on all manner of things when he was also too long on the City Council including the more than just the occasional special request street sign posting to butter up one of his then long-suffering constituents.
The Quarry, however, decided that there was no point in so wasting its time listening to often curious excuses when it has so many more more other pressing as well as also inexcusable problems to investigate and then report to its growing legions of loyal readers.
Still, signage problems remain, as well as all too often obviously, throughout the Q with no obvious perhaps end of them in sight.
For example, instances of multiple signage often leaves one confused as to just what is allowed – or not, not to mention that some signage does not properly take in account such things as how school is only in session for less than half the days in any calendar year.
Plus, the apparently ever-increasing number of new street signs around the Q only increases the likelihood of even more signs ending up knocked over during the winter by often out of town work crews who are often less familiar with local streets as well as especially as regards both local street signage and fire hydrants.
That and in the meanwhile, street signs are still littering the streets of Quincy into the second month of spring in the wake of the Winter of 2015.
