– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News.
Quincy Snow removal damage repair costs are sure to soar as the winter snow pack melts.
The only question is how much.
As exampled in the accompanying photographs, Quincy Quarry has found considerable damage from snow removal efforts just about everywhere they go in the Q.
Many loyal Quincy Quarry readers have also deluded its City Editor with comments about the massive range of damage done just about everywhere around town by typically outside contractors and workers from as far away as Connecticut who had not a clue about the Q until they laid waste to city as well as private property all over town.
As the snow melts, the more the damage becomes ever more obvious.
Also obvious is how all too typically out of town contractors and their often non local workers from as far away as Connecticut had not a clue about the Q as they have they laid waste to city as well as private property all over town as well as arguably also did not know the Q they were doing in general.
Admittedly, snowdrifts often covered over all manner of things; however, given how poorly local streets were often but narrowly cleared, the damage done during snow removal often extends well past curbs and even sidewalks as well as is considerable.
Further inexplicable is how even telephone poles well in from the curb were whacked.
After all, as deep as the snowdrifts were last month, none came close to fully burying even merely but one telephone pole.
At the same time, nowhere on the grounds surrounding City Hall is there anywhere near as much, if any, obvious snow removal damage.
Similarly, construction on the running every more late and over budget old City Hall renovation project continues full steam ahead so as to perhaps eventually actually be completed.
Still, city officials said that the City of Quincy will pay for any damage.
Not noted, however, is how actually ALL local taxpayers will eventually be stuck with covering the bills for the damage done by clearly less than carefully operated City and City-contracted snow removal equipment.
Whether – or not – current city officials will pay come the fall elections remains to be seen.
And as for the final cost, figure on at least several hundred thousand dollars, exclusive of the costs for City Hall to process the damage claims filed by private property owners.

i am one of the CT workers who came up there to run a loader an load snow out. we dont really care about street signs an fences when there is a state of emergency. we came to bail up boston people out of the snow an help you out. an yes things get broken, an trust it will happen time an time again. its easier to run threw a fence an load snow then to try an work around it. an also we dont leave there so we really dont care . but get a life an see the big picture, cause next time we will leave you stuck with all the snow.
Mr. Nap,
You appear to be confused. This Quincy Quarry story is about the massive snow removal bills run up by City of Quincy last winter, not snow problems in Boston last winter.
At the same time, since you are tied to a Connecticut snow removal contractor, might you know anything about how the employees for a Connecticut contractor working for the City of Quincy are said to have run up purported as well as disputed room service bills well into five figures?
That and how one of this Connecticut company’s employees is said to have been escorted out of town c/o the local police after this employee is said to have become unruly?
