– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News
Quincy City Hall has already as well as yet again taken care of itself in advance of the next major snowfall that is widely feared by local residents will make the many snow pile lined “goat paths” that pass for residential streets all but completely impassible except by snowmobiles or dog sleds.
In fairness, the Koch Maladministration did see to it that Centre Street near Sterling Middle School was cleared the day after a local middle school student was hit by a bus on his way to school after 6 days of Snow Days.
At the same time, it is also fair to note that Mayor Koch has apparently yet to make any statement that might at least intimate that the massive snow piles created by City-operated plows may have perhaps played a merely a modest factor in the accident.
In fact, Mayor Koch is on record as backwalking away from any such even but merely perhaps some tangential accountability and/or responsibility.
In the meanwhile, when – or if – the City will see to it that the snow piles around the intersection near Firestone Tires where two died in a car accident on Friday are cleared remains to be seen.
Conversely, the Quincy Public School Superintendent has stepped forward with both public statements as well as plans to do what he can to do the right thing even though the student struck by the bus was on his way to class and thus not yet invoking Loco Parentis responsibility for the school district.
In the meanwhile, surely stressed to the max local parents should plan on several more snow days given the upcoming three day snowstorm.
That and that City Hall denizens will not have to worry about finding well-cleared entrances and employee parking spaces at City Hall.
Expect Quincy Quarry to keep up its unique and hard-hitting coverage as the Winter of 2015 looks to also be a winter without end.

Is mayor Koch waiting to have a procedure at Quincy Medical, can somebody tell him it’s closed and the. City is buried in snow?’?
The mayor must also issue new temporary rules of the road/sidewalk suggestions as follows:
1. When 2 vehicles are coming from opposite directions and can’t fit down the street, the Quincy resident has the right of way and the commuter cutting through quincy to avoid I93 must yield, if both quincy residents then the those without 4WD must yield.
2. Any pedestrians shorter than 6ft tall must wear a tall hat or carry an object so they can be seen by vehicles over the snowbanks.
3. If a Pedestrian is almost hit by a vehicle, provided the vehicle was not traveling over the speed limit both pedestrian and driver will wave and smile at each other.
4. If you have not shoveled your sidewalk and you are the property owner, the city will pay students to shovel for you and add it to your tax bill. If plows have pushed snow from more than one lane of traffic onto your sidewalk you are exempt from shoveling.
5. school will resume when the snow melts, mayor suggests any students with a drivers license become uber drivers and pick up people waiting for a red line train, that is not coming.
A thought: maybe the Mayor is buried in the snow at QMC? After all, he has been all but MIA for days.
