Coddington Hall is apparently undergoing yet another telecommunications redo.
Seven months after the building’s reopening two months later than originally touted on a ran way over budget even per Koch Maladministration standard practices gut wall renovation as well as Massachusetts Attorney General-cited project, the building’s telecommunication connections are apparently yet again undergoing a redo.
Yesterday Quincy Quarry reported that not identified as mainline utility company trucks were seen blocking the Woodward Avenue back entrance and student drop-off point for Quincy High School back entrance to Quincy High School.

The Quarry has since further investigated matters and so uncovered the following.
It would appear that utility workers and their trucks arrive after the start of the school day and thus do not further hamper already snow pile-impacted student drop offs at and pick-ups from the back of Quincy High School.
At the same time, however, it was also discerned that these workers are working on what per the Quarry’s count is at least the third – if not fourth – redo of the telecommunications lines into Coddington Hall.
Unfortunately, the Quarry was unable to obtain any cost estimate for this latest redo from City officials, much less if this is an additional cost overrun expense, as it knows better than to waste its time asking.
Even so, this constant do, redo, re-redo and redo some more yet is still as well as further disconcerting.

Not only as regards the latest suspected cost overruns, but also over the fact that the City of Quincy’s Informational Technology Department is now housed in the Coddington Building, née Coddington Hall.
After all, it is already beyond difficult for the City Council to obtain often basic information from City Hall as well as Public Records requests by the South Shore broadsheet are similarly often delayed.
Moreover, there is also City Hall’s begrudging admission of its illegal burning of city records and which was at least facilitated by the mayor’s now late brother.
Quincy Quarry would find it most interesting to speak with City of Quincy Director of Informational Disservices Chuck “Hard Drives” Phelan (no relation to former Mayor William Phelan, ed.).

Unfortunately, one can only properly assume that legal counsel has constantly reminded him over the past decade to not speak on such matters short of a court order and even then only with legal counsel present, not to mention maintain Omertà as per to be suspected standard Koch Maladministration imperial decree.
City Hall’s penchant for problematic policies of secrecy notwithstanding, expect Quincy Quarry to both investigate this and other Koch shortcomings as well as then report on its findings as bad news keeping breaking in the Q.
