– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News
Quincy Quarry just may have achieved partial success at effecting improved fire safety at fire-ravaged old City Hall.
In the wake of a recent near disaster in Stoughton given a snow-covered fire hydrant as well as in the wake of last September’s devasting old City Hall fire, Quincy Quarry featured yet another of its unique and hard hitting exposés – this time focusing on dangerously snow-covered fire hydrants on City of Quincy property surrounding City Hall.
Amazingly, within a day of the Quarry scathing hot coverage of this arguably now most currently troubling Koch Maladministration shortcoming, one of the snow-covered hydrants on City property was dug out a mere two days after the recent Ground Hog’s Day storm.

Then again, various Koch Maladministration senior officials are known to be Quincy Quarry subscribers as well as thus assumed to be diligent designated readers.
Gobsmacking performance by City standards notwithstanding, just across the street the always hardworking maintenance crew at the Presidents Place office building had the hydrant on their sidewalk pluperfectly cleared as well as surely had done so well before the crack of dawn following the Ground Hog’s Day storm.
And now, the surrounding sidewalk of this not City-property abutting fire hydrant is all but snow-free.
In spite of this nearby exemplary example of “Best Practices” by a local private property owner, an even closer nearby other hydrant on City of Quincy property continues to be pose potentially grave safety concerns as it is surrounded by deep as well as untouched snow in the middle of Hancock Street between Presidents Place and City Hall.

Per its own standard practices, Quincy Quarry did not reach out to City Hall for comment as it knew that one would not be provided on this latest exposed Koch Maladministration shortcoming.
The Quarry also did not reach out to the long and variously challenged Quincy Fire Department Chief Joseph Barron for comment as it can only reasonably be assumed that he has been told not to be available for comment.
That and Chief Barron surely has enough trouble rolling out fire trucks in response to emergency calls on the ever-increasingly narrow “goat paths” that pass for streets in the Q without Quincy Quarry adding to his worries.
Do, however, expect Quincy Quarry to duly report on any and all germane further developments on this and the all to many other chronic City Hall shortcomings.
