<![CDATA[No parking in qc | quincy news
– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News
Quincy Center parking now appears to be free for all regardless of what the signs say.
After finally last night at least clearing out most of the drifts of snow along Hancock Street near City Hall, apparently the City of Quincy’s reportedly ruthless parking enforcement meter men are letting things slide along the still slippery sidewalks near the always slippery City Hall.

Needless to say, Quincy Center merchants were shocked, not to mention that many were at least contemplating contacting bankruptcy attorneys after The Blizzard of 2015 further laid low what little is left in variously fire and drugs ravaged Quincy Center.
Then again, after repeated hard-hitting exposés by Quincy Quarry on City Hall’s pampered free parkers, perhaps City Hall officials finally decided to at least clean up the mess around City Hall as – clearly – cleaning up their acts is beyond the realm of even but remotely plausible.
After all, surely even the widely rumored to be shameless Koch Maladministration had to at least take pause to reflect upon the surely even obvious to it political implications of its VIP parking policies and practices during this election year.

At least one can only hope that its repeated exposure for seeing to it that City Hall employee and VIP commuters free parking spaces behind and adjacent to City Hall were kept in plowed to the pavement from before dawn on Wednesday morning as The Blizzard of 2015 was winding down from laying Quincy low in deep snow regardless of the fact that City Hall took a surely paid Snow Day that day.

Even so, sloppy implementation apparently could not be overcome yet again as indicated by Quincy Quarry finding apparently unused No Parking/Snow Removal signs abandoned on a sidewalk.
Further instances of sloppy implementation elsewhere around the Q abound.
Snow plowing and removal in the Hough’s Neck area is reportedly abysmal at best, although Quincy Quarry is awaiting photographic images of one cleared to the pavement street where surely but coincidentally the Ward 1 City Councillor resides.

That would be one short residential block notwithstanding things are little better elsewhere around the Q.
Reports are that even Norfolk Downs is a mess other than one block along Newbury Avenue, a couple hundred yards of Glover Avenue and – to some extent – most of Hancock Street heading towards Quincy Center.
An particularly knowledgeable person who regularly travels far, wide and extensively on the increasing means streets of the Q said that “the streets are goat paths.”

Quincy Quarry feels that this observation is far beyond merely overly generous given the endless kvetching of its corespondents who have been tasked with covering the Q in the wake of The Blizzard of 21015.
Quincy Quarry also finds the kvetching overrated as it has – per its standard expectations – not assigned anyone to ask the Koch Maladministration for comment in spite of the fact that a previously and long feared adrift Mayor Tom “Cupcakes” Koch has apparently reappeared, albeit it in a safe and access-controlled venue.
Speaking of potential local hostility, local parents are fervently awaiting word that local schools will – in fact – finally be reopened on Monday as well as if they can maintain some semblance of an even keel until then.
Quincy Police as well as Massachusetts Department of Children and Families officials unable to speak on the record are similarly hoping that Quincy parents can hold on until Quincy schools finally reopen.
