Suspected undocumented Canadians litter school grass

Quincy High School’s long suspected but still far from complete as well as all but assuredly overbudget parcourse greenspace will likely at least be a bit greener come spring after it was overrun by Canada Geese over the long Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday weekend.

While the geese moved on almost as quickly as they appeared, theories still about abound as to cause of their sudden appearance in front of Quincy High School.

What the flock?

One popular intertwined theory is that this flock was seeking sanctuary after California’s ban on the sale of foie gras was recently overturned in federal court as well as that it isn’t illegal to be illegal in Massachusetts.

Whatever the recent, the suspected but still far from complete parcourse site was overrun with more birds than the set of Alfred Hitchcock’s horror film classic “The Birds,” not to mention that these geese are far larger than the mostly far smaller seagulls used as extras by Hitchcock.

What is yet to be explained is what happened to this enormous flock of honkers.

Obviously, they were not scared off by City Department of Public Works or Park & Forestry workers as this nesting and feeding frenzy occurred over a holiday weekend as apparently none of them was interested in getting “geese grease” on his – or her – boots even if both holiday premium overtime AND hazardous material exposure pay were offered.

That and City of Quincy Public Health Department inspectors were likely too busy picking up Chinese takeout before Sunday’s AFC title game as well as per their usual practice instead of opting to yet again duly deal with this potential for a massive outburst of all manner of geese feces transmitted diseases among Quincy High School students and school district employees.

This thus leaves either federal ICE agents or perhaps merely the recent icy weather as responsible for seeing these geese to get the flock out of town.

Regardless, Quincy Quarry will be at the already to report if they’re back anytime soon.
