– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News
Quincy Center parking has become so scarce that apparently drivers are going postal on street parking signs.
As one can see from exclusive Quincy Quarry photography, a two hour and no parking signs equipped pole was struck down and left prostrate on a sidewalk along the increasingly mean streets of Quincy Center.
The property owner abutting the crime scene said that it had taken her two years to see the City put up this relatively new sign given chronic parking problems on her block but which have only continued to worsen in the wake of the abrupt closing of the Quincy Center MBTA station garage over 2 and half years ago.
Now one can only assume that it will take upwards of another two years to see this sign repaired.
Even more troubling, however, is that city officials are now championing the permitting of new and often sizable multi unit residential buildings with minimal parking space capacity both near this crime scene as well as throughout Quincy Center.
One can thus only assume that more cases of going parking postal will follow as well as that Quincy Quarry will be there to cover the story.
