– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News

Coddington Hall’s long sideways tree is not only still sideways after its second knocking sideways, this one of many running late and over budget Koch Maladministration’s projects continues to run all but amok.

For but one example from among many, another of the expensive large trees planted at this problem-laden project site is showing signs of distress.

Even more troubling, the adjacent and assumed parcourse’s fatal sodding and parking lot project continue to be running many weeks late as well as surely also over – if not way over – budget.

Specifically, Quincy Park & Forestry Executive Director Chris Cassani said that “new sod should be laid at the site by the end of September. He said the project – to include a new stone wall, benches and parking spaces – should be mostly finished and open to the public in November.”

Obviously, these projections – however qualified – still were unreasonably optimistic as it is now January.

Further, at an estimated project cost of upwards of $4 million to demolish and then replace the old and stately Quincy High School,  so exposing the fact that the relatively new $120 million-plus high school is both less architecturally pleasing as the old high school as well as without an obvious front entrance, the 14 parking spaces at the site could be viewed as costing over $285,000 each to provide and thus costing even more the cost of condo parking spaces in Boston.

Either that or so adding an estimated $4 million to the over-budget $10.5  million cost as last acknowledged figure by city hall officials on this also scandal-plagued project.

The project is so out of control that even the Coddington Hall sign letter font sizes are out of whack.
In any event, one can expect that the City Council will be less than vigor at addressing this latest out of control, late and costly Koch Maladministration grandiose project management fiasco.

Quincy Quarry, however, will continue to duly follow this as well as the many other snafus by the Koch Maladministration.
