– News about Quincy as well as elsewhere from Quincy Quarry News

Quincy hit with its first snow dusting of the season.

Local broadcast and cable news media went into pull out all the stops coverage mode for the first arguably measurable snowfall in Eastern Massachusetts this season.

While the forecast was for less than an inch to as little as but a coating South of Boston, with rain to follow and likely wash away the snow, it still must be noted that this week is looking to be a slow news week.

Reports of spin outs around, north and west a Wusta during the early hours of the always ugly Monday commute were breathlessly reported by the electronic media; however, for the most part, the snowfall was a near non-event in Quincy.

Even so, it was noteworthy that MBTA – for a change – did a proper job of salting its Quincy Center station as well as that one would like to hope also did similarly at at least most of its other stations.

At the same time, there were no signs of either spreading brine or rock salt by the City of Quincy anywhere in Quincy, including not even at all but invariably well-plowed Quincy City Hall.

Then again, as well as again, the projected snowfall turned out to be a near a non-event in the Q.

Even so, Quincy Quarry did consider reaching out to City of Quincy’s Department of Public Works, Commissar Dan “Spanky” Raymondi for comment as to why the City of Quincy did initiate a massive response to this extraordinarily but modest snowfall.

Truth be told, however, the Quarry saw no point listening to Spanky endlessly go on and on and on and on even more about the hardworking men and (some, ed.) women at the DPW, especially given that it already knew that most DPW personnel had planned to spend Sunday somewhere warm drinking cold libations while watching New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady notch his record setting two hundred and first win as a starting quarterback in the NFL.
